High Priority has decades of combined Barbershop singing experience. They are excited and enthusiastic about the quartet, and their achievments, and looking forward to many upcoming shows and performances, here at home and around the country. Ray hails originally from California and has been singing Barbershop harmony for over 35 years. With a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Northern Arizona University, he's extremely knowledgeable regarding the musical arts just ask him. Ray directed a Tucson Barbershop chorus for several years, and, singing Tenor or Baritone he's been a key element of many excellent quartets in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. The long list of quartets he's been a part of is too numerous to name here, including ones that competed on the International Stage. Suffice to say he's a popular guy in the quartet world or locally, anyway. Byron sang his first solo at a Hinton, IA school auditorium at the impressionable age of five, followed by a standing ovation and encore.

This page lists the Barbershop Harmony Society 's international quartet champions by the year in which they won. Quartets can only win once, though up to two members may appear together in another quartet and compete again. In this manner individual singers may win multiple gold medals. Twenty men have won two or more gold medals. Four men have won three or more. Connelly was the first to achieve both the 3- and 4-time International Quartet Champion milestone, and Tony DeRosa is the only to achieve 3 wins in multiple voice parts. Though the competition is international, only two quartets from outside North America have so far won the gold medal: Ringmasters from Sweden in and Musical Island Boys from New Zealand in The Town and Country Four were the first quartet to win internationally as the contest was held in Canada for the first time in Disruption caused by the COVID pandemic resulted in cancelation of the international contest, the only year in the society's year history without one.
